A native of Kitchener Ontario, Becca started snowboarding at the young age of six. As a natural athlete, she quickly excelled within this sport and began competing at age eight. A year later she joined the Freestyle Freedom Program at Chicopee Ski and Summer Resort in Kitchener, Ontario. At 10 years old Becca joined the Simple Snowboarding Team, training out of Mount St. Louis, Moonstone, in Coldwater, ON.
Becca has competed at many high level competitions including the 2011, Burton US Junior Open (halfpipe). She placed 1st at both the Snowboard Ontario 2014 Amateur Series, where she competed in both halfpipe and slopestyle and The 2014 Horseshoe Open (Slopestyle). She also made podium in Women’s Snowboard Halfpipe JR/AM at the 2014 The Sony Snow Crown.
One of Becca's most memorable competitions is her 5th place finish in the women’s open Snowboard Halfpipe division of the 2014 Sony Snow Crown. Becca competed against some of Canada’s elite women snowboarders like Calynn Irwin and Katie Tsuyuki, who had just returned from representing Canada at the 2014 Olympic Winter games in Sochi Russia.
Becca is both driven and inspired by challenge. She was recently chosen to join the Ontario Provincial Halfpipe Snowboard Team, a decision culminated from her numerous accomplishments, and has put her on a path to National recognition.
Off the Snow
When she`s not busy sliding on the white stuff, and once the lakes are thawed, Becca can be found, up there on the podium, once again, as a nationally ranked wakeboarder and wakeskater. She also enjoys, slalom and barefoot waterskiing, water ski jumping and can be found Sunday nights in the summer at the Fern Resort ski show. Becca also plays varsity girls hockey with her secondary school.
